The Welcome Meeting is in the evening after dinner the first evening of the camp period/alternative arrival day. In the check-in and welcome meeting you will get your bed and information about the time to come, you will be introduced to Ängsbacka, meet everyone and connect with your work group coordinator!
On the last day of each camp period we have activities together during the morning, we eat lunch together and you depart after lunch.
If you come on the arrival dates and leave on the departure dates mapped out in our volunteer information, you greatly support our practical organization and energetic group dynamics, thank you!
Accommodation
All volunteers sleep in bunk beds in dormitories 5-25 people. The specifics about your room/dormitory you will get when you arrive at Ängsbacka. Please don’t lay more than 1 person in each bed, cause we don’t want them to break and you or your neighbor to get hurt. If you apply late and all dormitories are full, we will let you know in advance so you can bring a tent.
Location
This year we have arranged it so that all dormitories for summer volunteers during “period 1” and “period 2” is outside of Ängsbacka at 1-2 km walking distance. This is to support the volunteers’ possibility to rest during the night and not be bothered by the intense energy, late night discos and early morning meditations in the rooms above and around. We also aim to create a more stable living situation for the volunteers where you can have your space settled instead of moving in and out and here and there dependent on what festival is going on.
This organization also makes it possible to rent out the dormitories at Ängsbacka, which supports Ängsbacka’s focus on creating a stabilized financial situation. All volunteer/participant visitors can rent them to a fixed price, connect with booking@angsbacka.se / 0553-10035 for more information about that. During the precamp everyone can stay at Ängsbacka. During the summer there will be some more cupboards and lockers at Ängsbacka assigned to the volunteers to put your things on during the day.
Live in a tent, a caravan or elsewhere
If you would like to bring your own tent or caravan or arrange your accommodation in the village or elsewhere, you are most welcome to do so. Let us know in advance if you don’t need your dormitory bed or if you would like to borrow a tent from Ängsbacka. Please bring your own tent if you would like to sleep independently and/or need private space during your stay!
