Our very first festival took place back in 1996. A ‘circle of Elders’ laid the foundation and set the core intentions, such as spiritual awakening and celebration of life and individuality. This sparked the spirit of Ängsbacka, and it has been thriving until this day, and hopefully for many, many years to come.
In 2008 Ängsbacka became a non-profit membership organisation – Ängsbacka Economic Association. The association holds Ängsbacka Ltd company, which runs the daily operations of all events throughout the year. The association and the limited company have a shared vision.

Become a member!
Membership is open to anyone who wants to contribute to the realisation of our vision and support the spirit of the events that we create. The membership organisation’s main purpose is to be a legal foundation for Ängsbacka as a thriving and sustainable meeting place for personal and spiritual development.
The initial gift to the association is 1000 SEK. This buys you a year’s membership and helps to sustain the work that we do, and potentially to fund projects. Thereafter, the annual contribution is 400 SEK.
What is the annual meeting?
We encourage all members to attend the annual meeting. The meeting evaluates and celebrates the past year, discusses new ideas, and elects our representatives for the coming year. These representatives make up the Association Board, whose assignment is to – at the best of their ability – ensure the upholding of Ängsbacka’s vision and purpose throughout their mandate period.
The annual meeting is also a really nice way of connecting with other members and the onsite working community who live and work at Ängsbacka.
The next annual meeting will take place at Ängsbacka in the spring of 2021.
Why be a member?
As a member you can involve yourself to the extent that you want. It can be anything ranging from just wanting to be contributing financially and energetically without any investment of your own time, to being an active part in projects, petitions and discussions, dedicating more of your time to Ängsbacka. We invite you to feel part of the community, and to give what your heart desires to give!
As a member you can bring suggestions and petitions for the improvement of Ängsbacka to the board. The board will then evaluate your proposal if it gets brought to the annual meeting.
Once you’re a member, we welcome you to connect and communicate via the members-only Facebook group.
Visit Ängsbacka
As a member you are welcome to come and visit Ängsbacka as a guest during any time of the year when we are not hosting a festival or other big event.
There is an active working community of around 30 people sharing space here, eating together and doing different activities or workshops every day. To come as a guest can be a beautiful way to take a break from everyday life, and re-fuel at your ‘home away from home’ for a few days.
The cost is 250 SEK per night, including all meals and workshops. Remember that you need to contact us in advance, as we need to make sure that we have space for you. We are often booked by smaller or larger courses.
To book your stay please contact us at booking@angsbacka.se.

Per Lundin
Chairman of the board
Read more about Per
Per has been working on the board for a couple of years now, and is happy to contribute with his calmness, curiosity and honesty.
If he would envision Ängsbacka in the future, he would want to see a much bigger extended community that is more integrated with Ängsbacka. He can also see a second eco village close to Ängsbacka and a more independent village for people who want to live closer to Ängsbacka, without necessarily being so involved.

Good cooperation is about listening and letting in what is greater than ourselves. Sivert’s relationship to Ängsbacka started when he moved to Molkom 2015, and in 2018 took the form of duties as secretary and a part time gardener service, which he tried to combine with his work on the seed company Runåbergs Fröer and writing a book.
Regardless of the form of engagement, he feels the magical effect of Ängsbacka: to raise awareness of what lives within him and in relation to others. As the board we manage keys to internal rooms.

Hari Deva Eriksson
Read more about Hari
Hari was one of the original owners and founders of Ängsbacka. His role at Ängsbacka was above all to develop and maintain the programs. During the first 7 years, he developed and led programs at Ängsbacka’s daily activities and at the festivals. He was the program manager and host of the No Mind Festival, the Midsummer Festival, the New Year’s Festival and the Yoga Festival. He held the daily meditations, yoga and sharing group, led a few three-month development programs and various self-awareness retreats. You could say that his role in the creation of Ängsbacka was as an energy holder and visionary for the business.
In total, he has been the program manager and host of about 45 festivals at Ängsbacka It is primarily based on his knowledge and experience of energy work that he wants to be involved and help nurture the special power of presence that permeates Ängsbacka. That presence, the power is not something he takes for granted, but it is the result of many years of clear direction, intention, practice and unconditional giving by fantastic friends. He thinks that, sometimes in periods, direction and intention have been vague and scattered, which has led to superficial togetherness. But again and again the magic has come back. For Hari, Ängsbacka stands for magic, presence, heart in front of head, transformation, awareness, and love – and this is what he wants to support in the board. He is also one of the members of the Ängsbacka Circle of Elders.
