Working at Ängsbacka

Ängsbacka is a Course and Festival Centre for Personal and Spiritual growth. Since 1997, thousands of people have travelled from all over the world to experience its magical, warm, open and loving atmosphere. To many, this place has become like a second home and a source of inspiration.

Hundreds of people have lived and worked here for short or long periods. They have all contributed with time, money, work, and above all their heart to create what we enjoy here today. Currently our working community comprises around 40 people, most of whom live onsite.

Every now and then, we are recruiting to fill in roles with responsibilities in our different teams, both in operations (kitchen, housekeeping, garden,…) and in administration (events, marketing, booking,…). Current vacancies are listed below.

Due to the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic (a lot of our events have had to be cancelled or significantly reduced), we are unfortunately not able to offer any paid positions this year. We offer instead work-trade agreements: 25 hours of work per week in exchange for food & accommodation. This situation saddens us and we hope to be able to offer paid positions again in the future, but we also acknowledge that it is what it takes at this stage to be able to keep on offering Ängsbacka’s magic to the world.

Available roles

    We are looking for two assistants to support the forming and holding of the marketing of our new Online events as well as supporting the general Marketing responsibilities with oversight from our Marketing Manager.

    Assisting the senior finance officer in managing, processing and troubleshooting various accounts and transactions. This is a part time position. This position would be well suited to someone eager to expand their understanding of accounting and back end business practices, perhaps you have entrepreneurial aspirations and want to spend a few years honing your financial skills. Read more


  • CHEF
    We are looking for a chef who has experience cooking for communities, courses & festivals and who is willing to be with us from March until end of August. A great opportunity to experience both our working community and our festivals! Read more.


    This is a skilled role and needs someone with previous knowledge in a trade. Preferred trade areas are carpentry, plumbing, electrician, or mechanic. Read more.

    If you dream of the cozy moments in the Ängsbacka cafe, and want to hold the responsibility of it running smoothly for everyone to enjoy this summer please consider this role. It is desired that you have managing or coordinating experience as well as cafe or hospitality experience. Read more.


    They will work closely with the Festival Administrator and General Manager to help produce the summer festivals. When the General Manager is not on site, the Festival Office work leader holds the primary responsibility for ensuring smooth running of the festivals. Read more.


    We are looking for volunteers to join the first time ever “Ängsbacka Online Production team”. For this team we are looking for enthusiasts with experience from either study or work in the field of film-/TV-production, podcasting and streaming.
