Vasudev

Vasudev has been singing mantras since 1987. In 1990 he received his name from the Indian guru Swami Shyam. Originally from Oslo, he made the world his home, especially India, Sweden, Brazil and Bali. His teachers include Vigdis Garbarek and Ramesh Balsekar, but he has also been inspired by Alan Watts, Ram Dass and Nisargadatta Maharaj.

He first came to Ängsbacka for the New Year’s Festival 2002/2003 and has returned most summers since. Over the years he has been part of the collective running the centre, served as program manager, led Heart Dance, played reggae and rock’n roll with the houseband, but above all led kirtan/bhajans.

His recorded music spans traditional bhajans, original songs and reggae, and has found its way to millions of listeners worldwide through the artist names Super Deluxe and Vasudev. Vasudev loves to share his music wherever he goes.
